48056 - Control
Surfaces
Ultracasts's
control surfaces for the Hasegawa Typhoon are beautifully cast and subtly
sculpted. Fabric rendition is excellent, and details for trim tabs and
hinge points are all in place.
The rounded joining surfaces will make positioning these parts on the
Hasegawa kit a simple matter. You will have to thin and bevel the kit
parts before attaching the control surfaces for the best fit
If you are planning to position the control surfaces on your Hasegawa
Tiffie, Ultracast's resin parts will produce an accurate and reliable
result. |
48057 Exhausts
There
has been much discussion about Moskit metal exhausts, with their scale
thickness and hollow construction. They are undoubtedly clever and very
authentic, but the downside of the Russian exhausts is their metal
construction. They are extremely delicate and discolour with handling.
Ultracast have taken a different approach with their growing range of
resin aircraft exhausts.
The latest is for the Hasegawa Typhoon. The detail on this set is
superb, with hollowed-out pipes and extremely subtle weld seams - don't
clean these up!
Being cast in resin, they will be quite robust and will be easy to
paint.
This is a terrific drop-fit replacement for the Hasegawa kit exhausts,
and will make a noticeable difference to your Tiffie. |
48058 Typhoon
Radiator
This
is another replacement for the Hasegawa kit item. Detail on the radiator
and oil-cooler faces of the resin replacement is far superior to the kit
part.
Casting is as good as we have come to expect from Ultracast. All
casting attachment points are on the rear surface of the radiator, and
comprise of thin resin strips.
Take care not to cut off the two locating lugs! |
48058 Typhoon
Radiator with Dust Filter
The
additional dust filter was tested in North Africa during 1943, but also
used on the dusty airfields of North-Western Europe in 1944/45.
Check your references carefully. You may need this part to accurately
portray your invasion-front Typhoon |
Hasegawa's Typhoon will greatly benefit from these new accessories.
Ultracast's range already includes rockets, drop tanks and other items for the
Typhoon. I imagine that we can expect a seat fairly soon too!
Highly Recommended
