Skyraider Decal Sheets (4) Cutting Edge Modelworks
Reviewed by Brett Green
Replacement Props This set is designed to replace the poor example on the Tamiya kit but may be used on the Monogram kit as well. The six parts are cast perfectly in grey resin. The hub and shaft are included as well as the four prop blades.
Decals Three of these four sets cover a wide range of colourful aircraft, and one provides stencils for blue, grey and camouflaged Skyraiders.
Registration was perfect on all of my samples. Instructions are provided by way of detailed descriptions of the subject aircraft, colour artwork and scrap views as required. Set CED48095 depicts four aircraft flown by USNR Commander Gary M. Witters. These are a varied bunch, with one in Sea Blue, one Quantico machine in Orange and White, one in an experimental two-toned camouflage and one in grey and white. Set CED48096 has five Vietnam era aircraft including three camouflaged aircraft and two in grey and white. these include Tom Patton's MiG Killer with the angry bee. The flash for this striking aircraft is correctly depicted in orange. Set CED48097 adopts the theme of colourful fuselage bands used on six VNAF subjects. Devils, Stars, Arrows, Checks and Tiger Stripes really add extra interest to otherwise standard coloured aircraft. Set CED48099 supplies a large number of beautifully crisp maintenance stencils for all styles of camouflaged Skyraiders. National markings are also included, as are prop blade warning markings.
