Military
Vehicle Modeller International magazine is from the same stable as
Aircraft Modeller International as reviewed earlier this week. The
magazines even share the same Editor, Ian Hartup.
The family resemblance between the magazines is unmistakable. High
quality, high gloss cover, lots of thought given to background images
and formatting, full colour between the covers and a good selection of
subjects make this MVMI a winner for modellers of military vehicles.
There is strong emphasis placed on reference photos in this magazine.
In fact, the first Feature in the magazine is a reference piece on seven
support and command versions of the versatile British CVR(T). This
contains a good mix of captioned pictures of the real vehicles, models
and descriptive text. The article spans a full 15 pages, and will be an
invaluable source for anyone building the Accurate Armour 1/35 scale
kits.
Additional articles include an Opel Blitz workshop truck with
spectacular close-up photos, Coree's Israeli Upgraded Centurion with
some nice Construction and Reference photos, two Famos including a
late-model conversion using Cromwell's new parts and a Belgian view of
Euromilitaire.

Aircraft modellers have abundant choice for magazines at the moment.
Military vehicle modellers do not have the same luxury. In the English
language, there is partial vehicle coverage in the classic British magazine,
Military Modelling (albeit superb partial coverage), and the US quarterly
MMIR.
Military Vehicle Modeller International is a colourful and worthwhile
addition to the armour modeller's magazine collection. The back issues look
pretty interesting too!
