Ultracast
already have a set of shrouded Mosquito exhausts. This new set of 1/48 scale
unshrouded exhausts for Tamiya's Mosquitos will be welcomed by anyone building
day-fighter versions of the kit. Two sets of exhausts are supplied in the bag;
one set for each Merlin engine.
These resin
replacement exhausts are noticeably more detailed than the kit parts. These
flattened exhausts are always more challenging for the modeler to drill out than
rounded pipes, so this style of hollow exhaust is especially welcome. In
addition to individually hollowed exhaust stacks, the ends of each pipe feature
the distinctive collar, and mounting detail is also present at the base of each
stack.
Each exhaust is attached to its
individual casting block via a thin strip of resin. This will be very simple to
remove with a few swipes of a scriber or a hobby knife.
Recommended for anyone building a Tamiya 1/48 scale
Mosquito with a non-shrouded exhaust.
