The second set designed for Tamiya’s Fw190D-9 from Model Design Construction
corrects and refines exterior detail.
Included are a totally new upper cowling incorporating the corrected profile
of the upper gun hood, a set of VS111 prop blades which have trailing edges so
wafer thin you could cut paper with them supported by separate hubs and spinner
and a set of corrected diameter wheels.
Easily matching the quality and finesse of the previous set, the masters are
this time by Robert Stephenson, who to anyone with a 190 addiction will be know
as ‘The Wurger mechanic’. Roberts resin reputation precedes him and has been
reviewed by Brett here on Hyperscale many times. Coupling Robert’s pattern
making skills with MDC’s superb resin casting has produced resin details other
manufacturers can only dream about.

The wheels are supplied with tread and as smooth tyres but have one set of
common inserts, these fit so well that you don’t need adhesive, likewise the
upper cowling fits the kit component perfectly.
As on all of MDC’s 190 sets there is little or no flash and minimal casting
stubs which makes cleaning up and assembly a breeze.
Again, the images really speak for themselves.
