Here is a set of decals to add interest to Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Hornet two-seater. Orion's VMFA(AW)-225 decal sheet includes the markings for a single, but very exclusive, F/A-18D Hornet. This colourful aircraft includes a very serious looking Viking on the fins, with a mace on one side of the fuselage and an axe on the other. The fuselage markings are overwritten with flowing text in black and blue calling out the unit identification. These all combine to create a very uniquely marked Hornet! The decals are well printed with thin carrier film and registration is perfect on my sample. Documentation is extensive, with separate drawings for the camouflage schemes, stencil markings, detail colour callouts (including painting pointers for the seats) and main decal placement. Construction notes and FS colour matches are included in the foldout decal placement sheet. This sheet will be a delight to fans of modern Marines aircraft, or of colourful and unique aircraft in general.
