AMtech has announced several exciting new releases to take place over the next six months:

P-61 Black Widow in 1/48 Scale

Alan Griffiths from AMtech has announced a new series of 1/48 scale P-61 Black Widow / Reporter kits to be released from early 2003. The kits will be newly tooled by the same workshop that produced AMtech's wonderful 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Ta 183.

The first release will be the P-61A/B/C Black Widow variants, followed by the XP-61E / F-15 Reporter.

Pricing is expected to be under USD$60.00.

Limited Release 1/48 Flying Tigers P-40E

AMtech will package their 1/48 scale P-40E Warhawk kit with artwork of the Salween River Gorge raid in China, plus a personally autographed photograph of Flying Tigers' pilot Tex Hill.

Markings for all four P-40Es that participated in the raid will be included in this kit.

Only 1,000 of this special release will be available, and pricing is expected to be less than USD$50.00.

1/48 Scale P-40F/L Warhawk

AMtech's next model in their 1/48 scale P-40 series are the F and L, Rolls-Royce Merlin powered variants. Although the fuselage bears a family resemblance to the more familiar Allison Warhwks, the design of the P-40F and L nose was completely different.

AMtech will once again use unreleased AMT moulds for this kit. Upon comparison of the kit fuselage sprues with plans and references, AMtech was not satisfied with the accuracy of the profile, panel arrangements and other details on the kit nose. The new AMtech kit will therefore include a resin replacement nose that more accurately depicts the unique attributes of the Merlin engine cowl and intake.

The first of AMtech's 1/48 scale P-40F/L kits will be available around October/November.

1/72 Scale Junkers Ju 88S/T

The 1/72 scale Junkers Ju 88S/T kits are close to release. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
