Aviation In Miniature® continues to evolve with the
benefit of the suggestions in your letters, faxes and e-mail messages.
In our quest for continual improvement, we have upgraded our printing
technology to state of the art digital processing to display the models in
AIM even more realistically. We have also upgraded our photographic
capabilities eliminating what we hope will be all of our shortcomings.

Whenever possible, AIM will place its models in a more historical
context by presenting previously unpublished contemporary photographs from
significant periods in aviation history. Similarly, images of museum
aircraft, restored to either static display or flightworthy status, will
also be included when they are available.
Our focus to date has been 1/48 scale models. Many of our readers have
requested coverage of a broader range of scales. As promised in Issue 2,
we have increased our emphasis on 1/72nd scale. Please welcome Ron Taillon,
Bob Oehler, Bert Reynaud and Mark Thompson to AIM. Each of these talented
modelers has wide-ranging interests that span the World Wars. Each also
works extensively, in some cases exclusively, in 1/72 scale (although Ron's debut feature is an outstanding 1/48 Il-2). Please also
join us in welcoming outstanding modeler Rob Bilinski to AIM. While Rob
works in 1/48th scale, his modeling skills are exciting and we're sure
you'll enjoy his work as well. Many of you have wanted to meet the
Editorial Staff, so beginning with this Issue, the Editorial team will be
introduced by means of short biographies.
On behalf of the entire team at AIM, I thank you all for your comments
and support. We hope you enjoy the enhancements in this issue and look
forward to even more pages in Issue 4. |
