Edge set 48117 provides the modeller with enough parts to construct 12
M117 750lb bombs with the late design one-piece tail cone.
Each bomb consist of the bomb casing, tail cone and a fuse . All three
pieces are contained on one casting block with 12 blocks to the set.
The parts are cast in a light tan coloured resin which is a departure
from Cutting Edge's normal practice. The fins are very thin yet remain
straight . This feature is something that Cutting Edge are very good at
and other after-market resin accessory manufacturers would do well to
emulate. There is no flash on the parts and I could not find any pin
holes.
The parts are packed in a zip-loc bag which is then placed into a
re-sealable plastic box This sort of packaging goes a long way to protect
the kit from careless handling during the shipping process.
Once painted, weathered and placed on a MER or TER these bombs will
look great. The only inclusion that the modeller needs to consider is the
arming wire, fiddly, yet necessary.
